A little bit of everything…

Another week has come and gone. I cannot believe it is the 21st of October already. My indecision about my 2014 planner has ended. I bid and won a RED Moleskine horizontal weekly planner. It is a 2013-2014 version so I can start transferring information over as it arrived on Saturday. Thank you Journaling Arts! (There is also a store you can buy from here.)

I really loved this Paperblanks planner. It’ll be hard to say goodbye but I am looking forward to the slightly larger pages and the bold red cover of my new one. Now if only I could convince the paper to be as nice….

Be well.

Plannerd week 40

I love Halloween. I love autumn and crunchy leaves under foot and crisp cool breezes. I splurged a bit as I have mentioned and this week I decided to start using my new Halloween stickers. They are small but perfect for my planner spreads. Isn’t the witch, werewolf and scary tree amazingly awesome? All of them are fun and cute and make me smile. I’ll be using more for this new week.

I’m still up in the air about my 2014 planner. I keep bouncing around ideas. I have a couple personal sized Filofax binders. I’d need 2014 inserts or a punch. I’m afraid personal would be too small but that A5 will be too large. I’m toying with the idea of another Moleskine weekly planner. I really liked the week on two pages that was 5.5 inches by 8ish. I do have Levenger Circa, Rollabind, Staples Arc discbound supplies. I could DIY a junior sized planner or buy refills. I could buy or DIY some refills for my faux-Midori Traveler’s Notebook that I got from Davis Leatherworks. Another idea is to have a new “Everything Book”. I’ve had one before and it worked well. I could DIY one of many unused journals from my stash into an Everything Book or do a more organized planner style layout. I’m trying to keep my out-of-pocket costs very low. Sometimes having too many options is a bad thing…

Anyone already know what planner they are using for 2014? Feel free to share in the comments. I’d love it!

Take care and be well.

My Plannerd Week 21

My apologies for not posting last Monday. Matt was off of work which can be my only poor excuse.

I used my Pilot VBall eco version quite a bit. Dreamt about the pen and then grabbed it out of my stash. It writes so nicely and liquid ink is dreamy.

My Plannerd Week 22

I bought the “Nature” set of Staedtler fineliners. I really like the colors. The “Pastel” set didn’t thrill me like this one. But you know I have to have them all. They work really well in the Paperblanks planner as you can see. Plus having some different colors is fun.

Been continuing on my reading streak. I haven’t done any art in a long time and it’s starting to worry me. I forgot how or at least I feel that way. Not good, I know. But at least my time is spent reading and not just staring into space or watching cruppy television I don’t like, right?

Be well.

My Plannerd Week Nine

Another week has come and gone. I used my Zebra NuSpiral a lot. It’s comfortable and the fine black ballpoint is great for jotting down tasks in my Paperblanks planner.

During a recent shopping trip, I grabbed a pack of BIC For Her marker pens. The black, purple and pink pens have 0.5 porous points. I was thrilled that they don’t bleed or show through the planner paper at all. (I did the test on the lower left near the month calendar if you’re looking.) The designs on the bodies are fun. I like them. They are similar to Poppin fineliners and Sharpie fine pens (not markers). The decorated bodies add something different the others don’t offer. The BIC marker pens also come in a pack of black, blue, red and green with black & silver bodies if the purple and pink aren’t your thing. Have you tried these pens? What do you think?

Be well.

paperblanks

I began this year with one planner. I won a 2012-2013 Paperblanks planner and had moved into it before the end of last year. It’s a horizontal weekly layout or a week-on-two-pages as some would call it. I had trouble parting with my Moleskine weekly but I did it and transferred much of the overlapping months into the new Paperblanks.

orangecirclestudio

But then something happened. I found a Orange Circle Studio weekly planner for just a dollar and I had a dollar so it came home with me. Could I use two planners simultaneously? What would I put in one and not in the other or should I put stuff in both?

filofax

Not long after a friend sent me a 2012-2013 Filofax refill which was the only thing stopping me from using my Olive Urban personal Filofax binder. The plot thickened. Now I had three options.

The fourth planner resulted from a pair of generous Twitter friends. One sent me a red Finsbury Filofax binder. A real one. In red. And it’s awesome. I love it. The other awesome Twitter friend gifted an awesome Dutch weekly calendar and monthly pages. The binder and refill combine forces to become option number four.

I have four planners for 2013 and I’m stumped. Absolutely stuck in plannered confusion. Should I try one of the others? Do I dare attempt to separate my planning into multiple places? If I try a different planner, should I copy everything over? I’m afraid to mark them up in case I should give them to someone else… Should I have a giveaway?

Any and all helpful advice or insight is welcome. I am still in the process of hunting down a new job so my needs might change again but for now… I just feel guilty not using the three other options. This has all become too confusing to figure out on my own. :)

My Plannerd Week Seven

It’s hard to believe the seventh week of the new year is complete. I’ve finally started using pens in my planner. The reign of the pencil has ended. I’ve grabbed my Domo multi-pen, BIC multi-pen and even tried my Papermate Biodegradable ballpoints. I like the finer point ballpoints lately. I also found my stash of tiny circle stickers. That’s a great thing BUT the non-foil stickers are no longer sticky. I have quite the mess to clean up. Anyone need confetti?

Be well.

My Plannerd Week Five

Roller skating giraffe stickers make some weeks better. This week was pretty good. I got a lot done around the house but aggravated my ankle tendinitis while shoveling snow Saturday morning. Back to resting and be very careful not to reach the “too much” mark during all physical activity. Live and learn — and then be reminded.

Be well.

I have an bit of a stationery obsession. You hadn’t noticed, had you? Luckily, I am in great company. The marvelous Angela from Paper Lovestory is just one of the many who constantly tantalize me with exotic Filofax postings. The “My Week” invitation is out for anyone who would like to join, regardless of planner type. I thought, what the heck, why not? It will keep me posting and keep me more dedicated to the Paperblanks planner I’m using for 2013.

Oddly, I have been using mostly mechanical pencil in my planner these days. I highlight appointment times with yellow but always have a pencil handy. The Pentel Click Erase in 0.5 and 0.9 to start the year and my new BIC Reaction with the awesome grey body since I bought it January 6th. It has a fully retractable tip so there isn’t any risk of snagging or unintentional self stabbage. Been there? ouch.

The pencils I used.

The Paperblanks planner is smaller than the Moleskine Horizontal weekly I used last year but it works. I’m still searching for a new job so my days are not very full. I have been filling in more details just to keep my mind from having to remember. I’m afraid my brain is beginning to atrophy. I need to do more puzzles to keep the juicy gray matter viable. Please note that any information that I deem “not suitable for sharing” will be disguised by the glass, nose, mustache stamp in Aviary. I think it’s funny and does the trick.

My Week #1

My Week #2

Here is MY WEEK 1 and MY WEEK 2 which catches me up. Look for my next post Sunday or Monday as that will be the routine. I hope to stick with this all year. I think I can. Will you join too?

Be Well.
