A little bit of everything…

My Plannerd Week 40

Plannerd week 40

I used more of my dollar store animal stickers for this spread. These are the more realistic zoo type animals. Aren’t they cute? I did feel the need to add the monkey and banana just for fun. There is something about monkey stickers that has always amused me.

I used my brown PaperMate InkJoy ballpoint pen. I love brown ink. The InkJoy 100 models write smoothly. Occasionally I get a blog of ink to clean off the tip but overall I like their performance.

My surgery date is getting closer and my ankle decided to swell up pretty bad last week. I used the “bucket full of ice water” treatment that was recommended by a Twitter friend. It’s pretty effective. I’ll likely mix that into my ice pack routine. I’m happy to report I haven’t swelled up too badly yet this week. I’m about to head to work so we’ll see how that unfolds.

I’m in the mood for Halloween. I plan on breaking out some festive stickers and decorations for my planner this week. Stay tuned…

Take care and be well.

Washi Tape Can Be Better?

I’m pretty certain everyone has at least one roll of washi or deco tape. In case you do not, I have a previous tutorial up on how to make your own using plain old masking tape HERE

I wanted my planner spread to have more of a sea life feel to it. I have decorative edge scissors and figured I’d give this idea a try.

I cut a bit of my dark blue washi tape and applied it to some waxed paper. I used my fancy schmancy edged scissors to cut the tape and waxed paper. I peeled off the tape after cutting and stuck it into my planner. Ta Da! I’m looking forward to using this method to decorate more planner spreads in the future.

Have you done this before or will you be trying this in the future?

Take care and be well.

My Plannerd Week 39

My Plannerd Week 39

I’m enjoying my new stickers. This week’s “theme” is kind of fishy and fun. I used some washi style decorative tape and stickers from my new set. I can’t help but smile when I look at these fish!

Sprucing up my planner with some cute fishy stickers. #stickers #planner #plannerd #planneraddict

So many stickers for just $1.00. I am so happy that I splurged. I’ve looked at other stores and even online. I can’t believe how expensive stickers can be~! I’m considering getting some labels or sticker paper and making my own designs. Has anyone ventured into this realm of DIY before? I’d love to hear more about it.

Need this bad. Hot tea! @CelestialTea

I can tell that Autumn is setting in. There are leaves on the ground and a chilly bite to the air. My craving for hot tea has started too. During the colder months, you can usually find me with a hot mug warming my hands. I’ve been caffeine-free for several years so my stash is mostly herbals and decaf brews. Mmmm I think I’ll go make a cup right now.

Take care and be well.

My Plannerd Week 38

My Plannerd Week 38

I bought some fun new goodies last week. I know, shame on me. I broke my self-imposed spending freeze. The good news is it wasn’t very much money. I found the elusive Dollar Tree washi tape and some stickers. I just had to splurge.

I broke my vow of not spending. Got 3 rolls of decorative tape & stickers at the Dollar Tree!

The stickers are just too cute. I’m considering doing “themed” weeks for awhile. This week’s theme was pink and cute. I even had a pink Hello Kitty sticky note covering part of this spread. Aren’t the little panda, fox and hedgehog stickers adorable? I just happened to have my Hi-Tec-C 0.4 out and figured, what the heck – PINK WEEK! (I believe that is the Sakura color.)

I'm back on Instagram. Follow me!!!

If you’d like to follow me, my username on Instagram is JustDiySara. I know… I left but it’s annoying not seeing the full captions when people on Twitter post Instagram photos. Perhaps that’s a silly reason but I’m back nonetheless.

Take care and be well.

Is it me or is this picture blurrier than I usually post? I probably shouldn’t have to ask but it is allergy season and I spend a lot of time blinking, squinting and squirting stuff into my eyes. I try not to assume what I’m looking at is unclear.

I’ve been trying to establish more of a routine. So far it has been going pretty well. My exercising hasn’t aggravated my tendinitis which is great. I’m just hoping it is enough to strengthen my leg and ankle. Surgery isn’t too far off.

I’m in total denial about it being the middle of September already. It doesn’t seem possible. I mean I’ve been conscious every day and aware of time passing so the fact time has advanced shouldn’t be so jarring, should it? I feel like the world is spinning and I’m sort of floating around it thinking that everyone should slow down.

I haven’t decided on a planner for 2014 yet. I’ve been poking around ideas involving Filofax, index cards, lined journals, etc. Maybe I’ll post more about that soon.

Be well.

My Plannerd Week 35 & 36

My Plannerd Week 35

My Plannerd Week 36

My apologies for another double week and also for the blurry second photo. It looked a lot crisper on the tiny screen. How embarrassing.

I’m ready for summer to be done with the hot and humid weather. I’d like to have my windows wide open and my A/C turned off. Unfortunately, the ending of summer means winter isn’t too far off. Don’t get me wrong, I adore autumn. It just might be my favorite season. Too bad we can’t have Spring and then Autumn. I’d like that… a lot. Shorter days don’t sound like any fun either. Snow either. Blah. But first I need to concentrate on adjusting to a new work schedule and getting my ankle surgery out of the way. First things first.

Be well.

My Plannerd Week 33 & 34

My Plannerd Week 33

My Plannerd Week 34

My apologies for not posting last week. I picked up a Monday at work which threw off my usual routine. Today I visited my dentist for some numbing, drilling and filling. I’m taking it easy. Lots of rest.

My ankle surgery will be October 30th. I’m trying not to be anxious. I’ll take it a day a time. Slow and steady.

Is August really ending already? This year is going far too fast for me.

Be well.

I’ve been considering having the metal plate removed from my ankle for awhile. It won’t fix the tendinitis but the surgery would allow my doc to clean up in there. Unfortunately surgery means surgery. I’m not keen on the idea of reopening my ankle or anesthesia or recovery or being out of work without any pay for up to four weeks. I’m anxious and no date has even been set. I’m letting the “what if” monster consume me even though I know better…

Be well.

Everything is getting that fast toward blurry feeling. It’s August already. August?! Where has the year gone?

When my ankle is acting like a cranky old coot, I am forced to take it easy and abandon my plans. There has been a lot of this since I started my new job in March. The good part of being forced to rest is I can read a lot. I’ve been devouring books. I’ve read 17 books adding up to over 7500 pages. Not too shabby eh?

I try to be content every day. I may not be running around doing everything I want to do but at least I can smile every day. My ankle needs time and while she takes it, I’ll do my best to keep on trucking. In my own way.

Be well.

I can’t resist Hello Kitty stuff. We were in Indiana and took Matt’s Gramma to Michael’s. right by the checkout was Hello Kitty clearance heaven. I got a pen. Yep. Another pen. How many pens do I own? Is a gabilllion a real number?

Buy pens and be well.
