Another week has come and gone. I cannot believe it is the 21st of October already. My indecision about my 2014 planner has ended. I bid and won a RED Moleskine horizontal weekly planner. It is a 2013-2014 version so I can start transferring information over as it arrived on Saturday. Thank you Journaling Arts! (There is also a store you can buy from here.)
I really loved this Paperblanks planner. It’ll be hard to say goodbye but I am looking forward to the slightly larger pages and the bold red cover of my new one. Now if only I could convince the paper to be as nice….
I used more of my dollar store animal stickers for this spread. These are the more realistic zoo type animals. Aren’t they cute? I did feel the need to add the monkey and banana just for fun. There is something about monkey stickers that has always amused me.
I used my brown PaperMate InkJoy ballpoint pen. I love brown ink. The InkJoy 100 models write smoothly. Occasionally I get a blog of ink to clean off the tip but overall I like their performance.
My surgery date is getting closer and my ankle decided to swell up pretty bad last week. I used the “bucket full of ice water” treatment that was recommended by a Twitter friend. It’s pretty effective. I’ll likely mix that into my ice pack routine. I’m happy to report I haven’t swelled up too badly yet this week. I’m about to head to work so we’ll see how that unfolds.
I’m in the mood for Halloween. I plan on breaking out some festive stickers and decorations for my planner this week. Stay tuned…
Take care and be well.
I bought some fun new goodies last week. I know, shame on me. I broke my self-imposed spending freeze. The good news is it wasn’t very much money. I found the elusive Dollar Tree washi tape and some stickers. I just had to splurge.
The stickers are just too cute. I’m considering doing “themed” weeks for awhile. This week’s theme was pink and cute. I even had a pink Hello Kitty sticky note covering part of this spread. Aren’t the little panda, fox and hedgehog stickers adorable? I just happened to have my Hi-Tec-C 0.4 out and figured, what the heck – PINK WEEK! (I believe that is the Sakura color.)
If you’d like to follow me, my username on Instagram is JustDiySara. I know… I left but it’s annoying not seeing the full captions when people on Twitter post Instagram photos. Perhaps that’s a silly reason but I’m back nonetheless.
Take care and be well.
My apologies for not posting last Monday. Matt was off of work which can be my only poor excuse.
I used my Pilot VBall eco version quite a bit. Dreamt about the pen and then grabbed it out of my stash. It writes so nicely and liquid ink is dreamy.
I bought the “Nature” set of Staedtler fineliners. I really like the colors. The “Pastel” set didn’t thrill me like this one. But you know I have to have them all. They work really well in the Paperblanks planner as you can see. Plus having some different colors is fun.
Been continuing on my reading streak. I haven’t done any art in a long time and it’s starting to worry me. I forgot how or at least I feel that way. Not good, I know. But at least my time is spent reading and not just staring into space or watching cruppy television I don’t like, right?
Here is week ten. I used several different pens – ballpoint and gel. I love that the Paperblanks planner has better paper than Moleskine.
I have been hired on for a part time job. I interviewed on Wednesday and was overjoyed to get a call the next day. I dropped off my pre-employment paperwork on Friday and start tomorrow. My planner needs are bound to evolve in the next weeks so stay tuned. For now, I’m taking great advice – sticking with what has been working.
Another week has come and gone. I used my Zebra NuSpiral a lot. It’s comfortable and the fine black ballpoint is great for jotting down tasks in my Paperblanks planner.
During a recent shopping trip, I grabbed a pack of BIC For Her marker pens. The black, purple and pink pens have 0.5 porous points. I was thrilled that they don’t bleed or show through the planner paper at all. (I did the test on the lower left near the month calendar if you’re looking.) The designs on the bodies are fun. I like them. They are similar to Poppin fineliners and Sharpie fine pens (not markers). The decorated bodies add something different the others don’t offer. The BIC marker pens also come in a pack of black, blue, red and green with black & silver bodies if the purple and pink aren’t your thing. Have you tried these pens? What do you think?
I dug out my Zebra NuSpiral ballpoint pen and used it for most of my planner writing. It’s a great feeling pen with a nice squishy grip. The refill is a fine black. It writes nicely without much pressure. I was gifted a second one with a turquoise grip but had trouble with a blue refill exploding. I had never encountered this problem and contacted Zebra. They were awesome and sent me a replacement turquoise grip pen and refill pack. Unexpectedly, they also sent a blue grip NuSpiral. I’m in NuSpiral heaven!
No stickers this week. It’s been a very difficult time. My eight year old doll-face flame point Himalayan cat Oliver was euthanized Wednesday morning. I’ll post about him separately very soon.
