04.17.2007 I have always been an artist. Now that is not to say I was purged from my mother’s womb with a paintbrush ranting about Degas or Dali. I just always saw things differently, including myself.
I grew up in a typical family… mother, father, older sister and myself. We lived in the same two story yellow house my entire childhood. My father worked as a librarian at a local public high school until retiring a couple years ago. My mother worked as a bookkeeper/accountant until my Sophomore year of high school. My darling nephew was born in 1994 and is now approaching his 13th birthday. Needless to say my family is a big part of my life.
I was one of those semi-geeky-artsy kids in high school who was determined to graduate with no less than a 4.0 GPA, which I did achieve. Then it was on to college. I struggled a bit deciding on a major. I adored science, writing and art… what should I do with my life? Art made sense… I was interested in it and I always loved spending hours drawing. I graduated from Cardinal Stritch University in December of 2000 with a BA in Studio Art.
After college I performed what I like to call a “self-lobotomy.” I found a job that met my immediate needs. I needed money and insurance. The result was a miserable me who lost all sense of who I was. I was an Artist without any aspect of art left in my life. Luckily, recent events have turned me back to my passion ~ creating “Art.” I am currently employed at a local print shop as the “Color Graphics Specialist” which offers some creative outlet with monetary compensation.
Feel free to scope out some of my recent works at my DeviantArt site: http://flugal.deviantart.com . I recently joined the local art association and plan on sharing my more noteable works. Stay tuned for more drawings, photos, and artist books. I have always enjoyed gardening and reading so there may be some blog entires regarding those topics as well.
I suppose this will suffice as a proper introduction. Thank you for visiting!
